Doru Popa was born and raised in Targu Mures, Romania. He studied Management at the University of Economics and Business Administration for a year before realizing his true passion was in software development. He dropped out and enrolled in a 7-month intensive bootcamp, which kickstarted his career as a Full Stack Developer.

Friends and family would describe him as an adventurous individual who is always seeking out new experiences in life. He is prompt, punctual, and professional when it comes to serious matters. In his free time, he enjoys going to the gym and traveling the world to explore different cultures and cuisines. His favorite football club is FCSB from the Romanian league, as he grew up watching them play. One of his funniest experiences was during his travels getting lost in the streets of Giza with his friend while searching for a grocery store, but managing to find their way back after a wild adventure involving wild animals and locals eyeballing them like they were aliens from another world walking their streets. You could say he’s quite the character with the stories and passion to back them up!

His football journey began when he was just five years old. He played almost every day with the kids from his apartment building, and at the age of eight, he joined a football club. He played in tournaments until he was 15 years old. His most memorable football moment was when his hometown football club, ASA Targu Mures, promoted to League 1.

Doru joined CeleBreak’s tech team as a Full Stack Developer after hearing about the company through a LinkedIn message from CeleBreak. He loves the freedom to make his own schedule and work from anywhere in the world.
